In 1936, with the purchase of CANÍCULA as a yearling in Argentina, the Paula Machado family won the POLLA DE POTRANCAS (1000 guineas). The mare was afterwards taken to Brazil to become one of the three most important foundation mares of the Haras São José.
With the recent results obtained in Argentina by RITON, SEABORG, SEA GIRL, ALEXINE and CUESTION DE HONOR, RIO CLARO attests the excellence of its work.
